Mashrafe still in T20 team!
Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, the captain of the shorter versions cricket of Bangladesh has been carrying injury troubles since the beginning of his career at the age of sixteen. Surprisingly enough he has able to maintain his rhythm in international cricket even after being undergone seven surgical procedures.
Although Mashrafe Bin Mortaza had announced his retirement from T20 internationals, Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan has said that he would still be playing for the Tigers in the shortest version of the game.
“We are saying it repeatedly that Mashrafe did not quit T20I. We did not say he is not in the squad. He just stepped away from captaincy,” said Nazmul after returning home from Sri Lanka.
“We have been saying that there will be three different captains in three different formats. If he thinks he is fit to play, he will stay. We won’t let him go if the team need him,” said the BCB chief.
Mashrafe himself let the world know about his decision during the toss before the first T20 against Sri Lanka in Colombo on Tuesday, but today’s remark made by the BCB boss leaves things shrouded in mystery.
