Theatre Fest Ganga-Jamuna ends today
The 10-day Ganga-Jamuna Theatre Festival will come to an end today, Sunday with the staging of Desh Natok’s ‘Sugaon’, Natyam Repertory’s ‘Domer Mother’, and Joyjatra’s ‘Pritilotta’ at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, reports UNB.
Organized by the Ganga-Jamuna Natyautsab Parishad, the festival featured plays and cultural performances by 29 theatre troupes and 63 cultural organisations.
A total of 26 local and three Indian theatre troupes including Anik, Ruchiranga, and Ganakristi participated in the festival.
Three shows were held every day at National Theatre Hall, Experimental Theatre Hall, and Studio Theatre Hall of the BSA.
Moreover, street plays, recitation, dance, and musical performances were arranged as part of the event on the premises of National Theatre Hall of the academy every day.
The festival has been dedicated to recently-deceased Indian thespian Amalesh Chakrabarty, who along with his theatre troupe Anik, had organised the Ganga-Jamuna Theatre Festival in India for years.
